AW Construction Awarded Folca 2 Contract by Folkestone & Hythe District Council

AW Construction Services are pleased to announce the award of the contract for the strip out, enabling and remedial works package at Folca 2, on behalf of Folkestone & Hythe District Council (F&HDC).

The Folca 2 project at the former Debenhams store on Sandgate Road in Folkestone marks another significant regeneration scheme for the town. AW Construction brings proven experience in delivering complex refurbishment and enabling works to this award, having successfully completed a substantial programme of works at the former Debenhams store at Westwood Cross, Kent, in 2022.

This contract award reflects AW Construction’s strong technical capability, collaborative approach, and track record in managing town-centre projects safely and efficiently. Our in-house expertise covers strip-out, structural remediation, enabling works, and tight programme delivery, supported by robust health and safety management and detailed planning.

We would like to recognise the dedication and professionalism of our bid and estimating team in securing this contract. Tender submissions of this scale require significant effort, coordination and collaboration, and this successful outcome demonstrates the strength and depth of the team here at our HQ in Folkestone.

Our project team are now progressing mobilisation activities, with works scheduled to commence in March 2026. As a Folkestone-based contractor, we are particularly proud to be working in our hometown and contributing to the future of this important building.
